ARTWALK 2023

Intro

ARTWALK is an annual multidisciplinary public arts festival set in the precincts of Little India and Katong-Joo Chiat. Through programmes such as wall murals, workshops, live music and performances, the festival celebrates the vibrance of heritage through these multisensory art experiences. In 2023, ARTWALK pivoted back to on-site programming after taking place in online and hybrid formats for the past two years. ARTWALK's ninth edition was organised by LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Tourism Board with the support of Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association.‍

DESCRIPTION

ARTWALK 2023 was a big leap for me — personally and professionally. While the necessary skills for project management and producing for films tend to overlap, what I did not expect was how much festival management & film production differed.

With the humbly sized team of 4, I was fortunate to wear multiple hats and juggle many roles — Namely, festival producer, finance manager, programmer, marketing strategist and logistics coordinator.

My main contributions to ARTWALK 2023 include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Spearheading the festival’s new focus in contemporary arts & performances
  • The introduction of Dinner Theatre and the festival’s media art installations
  • Liaising with our key stakeholders, such as the Singapore Tourism Board
  • Handling the budget & accounts
  • Coordinating and liaising with vendors, namely for the opening day event.
  • Managing team schedules & timetables
