Carla is a multi-faceted creative professional whose journey began in filmmaking before her passion for cultural policy led her to pursue a degree in Arts Management. With an impressive portfolio and multiple awards for her works, she was a recipient of the Ireland Funds Scholarship. Beyond school, Carla was ARTWALK 2023's festival producer and curator, writes for Plural Art Magazine, and actively advocates for neurodivergent inclusivity and awareness under the mental health charity Resilience Collective.
My previous work was mainly in filmmaking, marketing and writing. However, currently, I'm working towards pursuing higher academia, with a focus on cultural policy and digital technology & the arts.

Presented preliminary findings of my dissertation research "Tensions in Digital Preservation: The Relevance of Digital Technology for Orang Laut Cultural Preservation"
Presented as part of the 'Emerging leaders: Reimagining Heritage for Digital Natives in Singapore' panel. The presentation touched on the experience throughout the ASEAN-ROK Youth Metaverse Idea Competition and the importance of prioritising content and narratives above the novelty of emerging technologies in museum settings.
One of 2 participants selected for the 4-week virtual residency, under the mentorship of Ms Audrey Wong, cultural policy expert and arts educator at LASALLE College of the Arts from Singapore.
