I'm a writer, aspiring curator & researcher, and project manager based in singapore. when i'm not working on a project, you can find me at home staging photoshoots of my cats
Carla is a multi-faceted creative professional whose journey began in filmmaking before her passion for cultural policy led her to pursue a degree in Arts Management. With an impressive portfolio and multiple awards for her works, she was a recipient of the Ireland Funds Scholarship. Beyond school, Carla was ARTWALK 2023's festival producer and curator, writes for Plural Art Magazine, and actively advocates for neurodivergent inclusivity and awareness under the mental health charity Resilience Collective.
Past work & history
My previous work was mainly in filmmaking, marketing and writing. However, currently, I'm working towards pursuing higher academia, with a focus on cultural policy and digital technology & the arts.

Placed third amongst 48 teams and 21 individuals (tied with team KYAT and Creative Potatoes) in the competition which focused on Cultural Heritage in 2023. Competed at the finals in Busan 5 - 11 Nov 2023
Awarded by the Infocomm and Media Development Authority (IMDA), Singapore. The grant was used to attend workshops and conferences at Gitex 2023 in Dubai, to further develop my expertise in digital spaces, technology and the arts.

Final year dissertation research presented as part of the "Better Worlds" panel
Presented preliminary findings of my dissertation research "Tensions in Digital Preservation: The Relevance of Digital Technology for Orang Laut Cultural Preservation"
Presented as part of the 'Emerging leaders: Reimagining Heritage for Digital Natives in Singapore' panel. The presentation touched on the experience throughout the ASEAN-ROK Youth Metaverse Idea Competition and the importance of prioritising content and narratives above the novelty of emerging technologies in museum settings.
One of 2 participants selected for the 4-week virtual residency, under the mentorship of Ms Audrey Wong, cultural policy expert and arts educator at LASALLE College of the Arts from Singapore.

Work History
Contributing at Plural Art Magazine, with a focus on digital and media art
Intern from May 2023 to August 2023. Was subsequently promoted to Curatorial Assistant from September 2023 - present. Assisted Tung in several exhibitions & Re:Connect/Centre/Converge: The Arts Festival by the Substation.
Assisted the founder in the planning & execution of the consultancy's workshops
Designed the archival system of 8K RED camera footage at DERYL Studios
Assisted in the production & liaison of interviewees in several documentaries
Conducted pre-production content research for several documentaries
Directed several short animations, a music video and short documentary
Supported the magazine editor in the implementation & execution of the then-new travel section, 'The Long Weekend'
